About Floyd County Criminal History

Floyd County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff, two court clerks, the regional jail, the Virginia Department of State Police CCRE, the Virginia Department of Corrections, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. We organize those official routes so readers can identify the office, search portal, address, or phone line that fits the record they need.

Why We Built This Site

Virginia does not place every criminal-history record in one public database. In Floyd County, the Sheriff keeps local incident and arrest reports, the New River Valley Regional Jail controls booking and custody details, and the General District and Circuit clerks maintain filed cases. The Virginia Department of State Police Criminal Justice Information Services Division runs the Central Criminal Records Exchange for official state history requests. VADOC and the state registry answer different custody and safety questions. We bring the verified contact details, costs, portals, and request methods together while keeping each custodian's role clear.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency routes: verified contacts for the Floyd County Sheriff, court clerks, NRVRJ, and statewide offices
  • Record access steps: practical ways to search and read Floyd County court cases
  • Official check details: how VSP name-based and authorized fingerprint processes differ from public court searches
  • Relief information: where Virginia expungement and sealing petitions begin and which office holds the resulting order

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a Virginia court, law-enforcement office, regional jail, or state agency. Those boundaries mean that we cannot:

  • Provide an official criminal history or conduct an official check
  • Submit a record request, sealing petition, or expungement filing for a reader
  • Certify a court document, arrest report, booking entry, or CCRE record
  • Offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or eligibility for relief
  • Promise that an agency's fee, hours, form, or contact detail has not changed

An official copy must come from the custodian, such as the Sheriff, a Floyd court clerk, NRVRJ, or Virginia State Police CCRE. We can identify the route, but cannot issue the record.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied by independent providers. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. We may receive a referral payment when a visitor follows a tool to a paid service, which supports free access to this reference material. We neither set the provider's charges nor determine what its results contain. Official records must still be verified with the government office that maintains them.
